Frequently Asked Questions
Every student's situation is unique, so we always recommend a quick phone call to talk through your specific needs — but here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
(207) 215-6838How do we get started?
The best first step is a phone call. Every student and every school is different, so we like to talk through your specific situation, answer your questions, and recommend a path forward. Call us at (207) 215-6838 — the consultation is free.
Do parents pay for school-based services?
No. When your child receives services through one of our partner schools, everything is covered by the contract between the school and Little City Speech. Parents never pay anything and never see a bill.
How does private pay work for individual therapy?
We keep it simple: reach out for a free consultation, we'll discuss your child's needs and our current rates, and if it's a fit we'll schedule an evaluation and build a therapy plan. You pay us directly — no insurance paperwork, no claim denials, no surprises.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance of any kind for individual therapy. We accept CDS (Child Development Services, the Maine DOE program for young children), MaineCare (Maine’s Medicaid program), and private pay.
Where are services offered?
In person, always. We provide services on-site in our partner schools during the school day, and individual therapy in person at our local office. We do not offer teletherapy — we believe kids do their best work face-to-face.
What ages and grade levels do you serve?
We work with students from PreK through high school, in schools across Bangor, Hermon, Old Town, Orono, Brewer, and surrounding communities.
Still have questions?
We're happy to talk through your student's specific needs — no obligation, no pressure.
