What We Do
Speech therapy targets the underlying skills to reading, writing, speaking, and listening — from articulation and phonological awareness to expressive and receptive language, spelling, and comprehension — tailored to each student's individual needs.
Speech-Language Therapy
Based on individual needs, speech-language therapy with a licensed speech-language pathologist can target the underlying skills to reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Articulation & Articulation Disorders
Individualized therapy for speech sound production — helping students say sounds clearly and confidently so they can be understood by teachers, friends, and family.
Language
Support for understanding and using language — vocabulary, grammar, following directions, telling stories, and expressing ideas clearly.
Evaluations
Comprehensive speech and language evaluations that give families and school teams a clear picture of a student’s strengths and needs, with practical recommendations.
Dyslexia
Structured, evidence-based support for students with dyslexia — building the decoding, spelling, and comprehension skills that unlock reading.
Early Literacy Lessons
Playful, purposeful lessons for young learners that build the foundations of reading — letters, sounds, rhyming, and a love of books.

What Schools & Families Say
Little City has been a true partner, not a vendor. Their SLP is a familiar face in our building — the students light up when she walks in, and our IEP meetings have never run smoother.
Karen T.
Special Education Director, Area School District
After years of juggling rotating providers, having the same therapist all year has been a game changer. The quarterly progress reports keep our whole team on the same page.
Michael R.
Principal, Area Elementary School
Our son struggled with reading for two years before Little City. The one-on-one, in-person work made all the difference — he reads to his little sister now.
Jessica B.
Parent, Bangor
They coordinated everything with our school and we never saw a bill. Our daughter went from dreading reading group to raising her hand. We are so grateful.
Dan & Amy L.
Parents, Orono
The communication is outstanding. Therapy goals connect to what we do in the classroom, and I always know what to reinforce during the week.

Payment Made Simple
No insurance paperwork, no surprise bills — how payment works depends on how your student receives services.
Individual Therapy
We don't accept insurance of any kind for individual speech therapy. Instead, we keep it simple with three options: CDS (Maine's Child Development Services program for young children), MaineCare (Maine's Medicaid program), and private pay.

One contract between your school and Little City Speech covers everything — parents never pay anything. We can even bill MaineCare on your school's behalf, so your district gets reimbursed directly.
How school contracts & billing workAreas We Serve
