Where Old Town families are seen

Our Bangor office is about a 20-minute drive down I-95 from Old Town, and we schedule sessions around the school day to keep the trip manageable. Students served through a school contract are seen on-site at school.

Old Town schools

Old Town students attend RSU 34 schools, which also serve Alton and Bradley. Families from those towns are just as welcome. Individual therapy is open to any family, whatever school their child attends.

Reading support that goes beyond tutoring

If reading is not clicking for your Old Town child, the cause is often in the spoken-language skills underneath it. Our team is trained in structured literacy, and Lindamood-Bell® instruction is available from a Lindamood-Bell trained clinician — both target the sound and language processing that reading depends on, and are often the right next step when tutoring alone has not made a difference.

Speech therapy in Old Town: common questions

Do you serve Alton and Bradley as well as Old Town?

Yes. Families anywhere in the Old Town area, including Alton and Bradley, are welcome. Individual therapy happens at our Bangor office.

My Old Town child is struggling to read. Is that something a speech therapist helps with?

Often, yes. Reading is built on spoken language — hearing and manipulating sounds, vocabulary, and comprehension. An SLP can evaluate those underlying skills and provide dyslexia or early literacy intervention that targets them directly.

How do we get started?
